Update
My AP Bio final is the next two days, so I will be studying a ton… Probably meaning a lot of stuff posted on here soonish. I’ve been making handwritten study sheets for A&P which I think is enourmously helpful to making sure I know something. Drawing or writing out something by hand is the best way to learn. That’s why I keep a sketchbook of anatomy and physiology and I love...

Science Music Videos →
Ones that are actually scientifically accurate yet still pretty decent musically. Highly recommended. I’m sure you guys all have finals. Don’t unfollow just yet. My guidance counselor always says, “It’s not done until it’s done.” Meaning studying shouldn’t necessarily stop until school is over. (Or for my case, when I graduate.) Learning is a life-long...

"Will I get a 4 or 5 from using your study...
… No. Probably not, especially if you’re just reading them and not using them to actively research and study things you need to. Simply put, if you don’t put in a lot of effort and have a good grasp of the material, no. My study sheets are only facilitating your studying, but using those to study alone probably won’t be enough, unless you have a super good memory. (Not...

"How?"
I cannot stress how important that question is. Regardless of how “well” you think you know your material, memorizing just the “what” will not get you as far. So how can you combat this? Occasionally stop and quiz yourself about something you just learned. How does that process work? If you can’t explain how something works, knowing what is pointless. Unfortunately,...

Study on the go!
One way to get in some extra studying time that could be the difference between remembering something important and forgetting it is if you listen to podcasts in your car. What if there are no podcasts on what I wanna study? Lucky for you, there’s a great YouTube channel, bozemanbiology, that has GREAT videos for AP Bio. I know those are videos, however, you can download the audio of the...

Reality Check: Don't try to answer every single...
It’s very likely you will not have time. So your focus should be on getting as many points as you can, not answering everything. Tip: When going through the test for the first time, answer whatever you can right off the bat. If there’s a lengthy question, circle it to answer it later. If you come across a question you’re not 100% sure of but can probably think it out, put a...

What you should be studying right now:
Evolution: You don’t need to read all the chapters in the book (too late for that), but you should know all the vocabulary in this section, as well as some examples. It’s a huge part of the test. Heredity/Genetics: Depending on which was easier or harder for you, study the one that you know you need work on. You definitely need background heredity (vocab/statistics), but it’s...

Fractal Systems
For 2 weeks now I’ve been trying to remember that word haha. Definitely know what a fractal system is. (Ex: The lungs) If there’s any question about surface area when it comes to anatomy it might be a useful vocabulary word so you’re not saying something like, “The thing that brachnes out in a system.”

Anonymous asked: Ok I think I made a huge mistake. I'm a freshman in HS taking Honors Bio. My teacher told us we should take the SATs, but she didn't mention the AP exams. So I didn't sign up for them (neither did anyone else, not even the supersmart science leagues kids). But apparently colleges look at that one and I am DEFINITELY going into the sciences. So now I'm probably going to have to...

AP Biology Review Questions and Answers →
I started a review doc of some basic questions and answers in order to help me prep for the AP Test.  Anyone who’s interested can print it out for themselves. I’ll continue to update the sheet throughout the week, and aim to get more than half the review material covered by next Thursday/Friday.  Hope this helps a little bit!

Want a way to study bio that's actually pretty...
Go on Yahoo! Answers. I’m serious. There’s no pressure to be 100% right, you can figure out what you know from it, and if you don’t know something, you can research it! (If you’ve never even heard of it, though, either ignore it or star it to research later.) Also, a lot of people use Y!As because they don’t feel like doing their homework. Since you don’t have...

Having trouble learning a certain unit in your...
healthylivingforyou: It’s crunch time; college finals and APs are in just a few weeks. So now is definitely not the time to be reading chapter after chapter in your textbook, or even your review book, for review. So if you’re struggling understanding a certain unit in one of your classes, what can you do? Make flashcards that only have the big ideas on them. Any diagrams or pictures to enhance...

FYI:
If you have any review vocab quizzes in your class like I do, a great way to review for them is by making a study sheet! This will refresh your memory on the definitions via context and is also a more stimulating way of studying your vocab since it requires more active work than flashcards! If you have words you constantly miss on vocab quizzes, make a list of them and create sentences (that...

Practice Free-Response Questions with Grading... →
While I’m making my study sheets, I plan to be making study sheets for how to be prepared to answer them! I’ll be sure to share those if I have the time to do it all. :) If you can nail the free-response you’re golden. You need to know a lot to answer them, so multiple choice should be easy from there.

Here's the scoop.
I teamed up with one of my close friends and we’ve made a two person study group. We’re meeting two days a week, one for bio and the other for chem. I’m going to do the work for bio and he’s going to do the work for chem, then we’ll switch. Why is this relevant to you? We’re doing several chapters a week, so I will be posting a lot of things on here. What...

So instead, I’m just gonna read the chapter summaries and make review sheets off of that, adding in details later. I’m actually gonna read the biochem section, however, because I was absent during that unit. I feel like I pretty much understand it since I’m in AP Chem, but there’s bound to be some things I don’t know in a biological sense. You should see my review...

This is one of the main reasons I made this group. So that we could all benefit from everyone putting in a little work to help everyone else study. Yes, I know some of you specifically said you want to just lurk, but I have a hard time believing that out of 42 members we can’t get at least 10 to participate. C’mon, guys! We can do this. We have power in numbers, here! We should make...

Anonymous asked: So I haven't really been studying for the APBIO exam, and I haven't been doing that great in class either. I feel really overwhelmed by all the material I have to learn, I don't know where to start, or how to even cram enough information into my head to pass the exam! What should I do? :(

Please sign up for a topic!!
Okay. It’s definitely unrealistic for me to be doing all of the topics myself to post here, so this is where you guys join in. Pick a topic to make a review sheet for and post it when you’re finished! You may scan a drawn version, make a digital version, or make a typed version with pictures. Biochemistry Cells Energetics Heredity Molecular Genetics (healthylivingforyou) ...

… So I didn’t finish reading all the chapters today. I’m gonna see what happens tomorrow, then plan out how I’m gonna go about the rest of the week. If you guys could also help make/share review sheets and whatnot, that would be fantastic!

Today I'll be reviewing Evolution.
That means I’ll be reading through and answering questions in the book for chapters 22-25 and making a cheat sheet. I’ll be sure to post the cheat sheet and some various questions from the chapters by the end of the day! Feel free to join in, especially if you’re on spring break, since you must have loads of time like me. :P Let the reviewing begin!
